friend of mine had this same issue this past weekend. Engine light on, and nothing else. Took it to the dealer and it was a bad throttle body. Replaced under warrantly.

I just had the same issue with CEL and remote start not working. It was the gas cap! I didn't make it click when i refilled her up. Thanks guys!!

I called OnStar. Said it’s my fuel cap. I ordered a new fuel cap & will let ya know if it works.
Thanks for the info that the car won’t remotely start if CEL is on.

Also important to note: Your car will not let you remote start if you have ANY check engine lights at all.
