Either that switch or I use scramble for a multi-setting boost at the strip. It allows me to launch and run 1-2 gears at the lower setting so as not to blow the tires away, then slap the scramble to go higher boost. A true boost-by-gear would be optimal though.

clarification

@ AGP - Sorry, the statement I read wasn't in this thread. " I have it running 9psi in 1st and 13psi in 2nd up. That's 150whp jump for the higher gears." This is what I saw and provoked my thought and inquiry. I'm really looking for insight to make an educated purchase.

With the GFB boost controller, you can use a clutch position sensor to switch you through the presets you have saved. It doesn't pay attention to what gear you are actually in though. Just switches presets when triggered. I haven't tried it. Think it explains it in the instructions is where I read about it.

MPH switch or scramble seems easiest for just low/high boost settings.

Ok. I bit the bullet and ordered the Cortez EBC, which does a boost-by-gear using speed and rpms versus some switch. I hope it delivers!

I'm surprised it doesnt have more info out there with all the features it has. Only a few vids on youtube etc. It seems to be more popular with the mustang and euro market. After spending the night reading their website it seems pretty easy to hook up and set up.

Download the (Cortez) software and poke around. Open up the Help section and you can see what more it does. It’s not totally for the layman though.

Both two different animals.

Boostleash is heavily aimed at drag racing, and for use with CO2.

The Cortez would not be as specialised as that, and is more aimed at the road market.

Not to say there is no crossover with features though.

Thanks AGP for all the help and I will be purchasing a kit. Either Garret GTX 3582r or EFR 7670 Fast Spooling any advice on what to get?

Really there are lots of options these days if willing to spend.

Garrett have some very nice new units out there now, the G series and Xona make some great stuff. As do Precision. Although many will say the EFR's are fantastic.

I can't imagine an old Garrett GTX would compare to any of these newer units.
