470 to the rear wheels is nearly 550 flywheel...seems higher than most. Is this because it is a no a/c car? I used 15% drivetrain loss.

Good Question.

We at NicKey use "Standard" vs "SAE" TQ & HP numbers. The Standard numbers are slightly higher than SAE. The OEMs use SAE.

We use our base line to measure the effect the mods have on power.

We can display both numbers, but now use SAE. A while back we were involved with some testing for an aftermarket mfg along with some other performance shops and of the 5 shops testing, we were the only ones using the "lower" numbers. We all agreed to use the STD measurement from then on amongst the group. Later as the dyno results started to populate the Forums and magazine articles we continued to use the "STD" measurement, as a fair basis of comparison, since that is what the others were using (not Camaros).

So, STD is: 471.34hp and 441.46tq & SAE is 459.93hp and 430.91tq

Approx 2.45% difference. So when you want to compare to the OEM numbers you should use an SAE dyno measurement.

The 15% loss of power, to the rear wheels is not an exact number and it is also not linear. It is a guide and estimate. Every type of Camaro can be different. The only way to know for certain would be to pull the Z28 engine and run it on an certified Engine Dyno.

It is my opinion that the LS7 in the Z28 has been rated conservative by GM. To your point no A/C vs A/C may have a minor effect.

The Key here is to see how much more TQ & HP we achieve with this build and where it comes in on the power curve, then some real world application.
