Short drives
Hey everyone I bought a 2012 LS on the 27 and in just over 2 weeks I put on 250 miles. I live about a half mile from work. I know that short drives can cause problems with the engine by not reaching temp ect ect. I do walk to work from time to time but I only put on 5,000 miles a year and its usually a short drive.
My question is how can I help care for my engine to make sure it will last a lifetime? I don't want to put too muh wear and stress on the engine |

Let it idle before you take off so that the engine can reach operating temperature. Make sure to take it on a longer road trip from time to time. When I was living in Europe I would take my cars to the Autobahn from time to time. You would be amazed what comes out of those cars when you bring them up to speed

Just drive it! Don't worry too much, if there is one thing that Chevy knows how to do, it's build a strong, long lasting motor.

in teh mornings you are going to drive it to work, start it up, and let it warm up for about 5 minutes first. then on the weekends, DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!
