Because of the sensitivity here... You looking for compliments or critique.

Critique. I need to learn how to launch. I tried the launch control and it bogged the car down. Ran without any control and spun the tires.

Instead of trying to launch the car maybe just try easing off the line like you would off of any stop light. Once your moving go full throttle. You should see better times than you would if you just spun through first gear. Then try bringing the revs up to 1500. Turn off traction control too.

That 60ft time is pretty bad. I think the 8.99 1/8th would put your right around 14.0 in the 1/4 mile. I've never driven a 5th gen but my 98 SS stock except for a lid ran 13.2 at 107 mph. The spinning of the tires probably killed you as well as the heat. Keep going back to the track and ask others how they launch etc. Glad you are getting out there and have fun!

Thanks.

With time I hope to learn.

They wouldn't let me run in the grove because I had my A/C running earlier and I was dropping water on the track . Lesson learned.

Next time I go. I will not be using the A/C on the way.

I was also running with factory tire pressure.

What should I run at the track?

I wouldn't worry about dropping the tire pressure too much. Maybe a few pounds.

Practice. My 1st time at the track I had a 2.5 60ft and 14.0 1/4. 2nd trip I ran a 13.4 with a 2.2 60ft. 3rd trip and most recent time I ran consistent 13.0 with 2.1 60fts and ran my PB a 12.8@111.8 2.1 60ft.

Take all your nannies off, I found that works the best for launching. Street tires (especially the G2s) are hard to launch on

I think you should be running low 12s or high 11s with drag radials.

My suggestion based on your mods is that you buy a set of drag radials and wheels to help put the power down. The stock Supercar G2 are junk to launch with. I ran a best of 12.996 in the 1/4 bone stock and couldn't better a 2.0 60ft.

As mention above you need to turn all of the nannies off but ease into the gas and slip the clutch a little to get it out of the hole. Go out an practice on a deserted street with nothing to hit or ditches to land in and you will get a feel for what too much or too little power is.

For comparison here are my slips from last weekend. Only mods are a ported TB and Z/28 CAI.
