Throttle Body

Just looking for some opinions. I think my throttle body is bad. I have the P2135 code and pulled my TB off and tested it with a multimeter. Their seems to be a short intermittent over load on TPS 2 while pushing in and releasing the plate of the TB like it's not functioning correctly. However, my main concern is the fact that this TB is maybe only a year old. It's a stock GM TB and I don't get why a TB would go bad that quick. Is their anything in the wiring harness that could have caused the TB to go bad or anything else? TB's aren't cheap so I don't want to slap a new one on necessarily if it's only going to fry the next one. I'm looking for any thoughts or opinions.

Did you buy the TB? I think there's a 24 month/unlimited mileage warranty for genuine GM parts. I'm not sure if there could be anything in the wiring that would cause it to short out like that. That what fuses are to protect. However, I guess anything is possible with these complicated cars.

Maybe I'll try contacting GM about it that warranty. I plan on testing the wiring harness if I can.

I thought it was 12 month 12,000 miles?

I just checked it is two year warranty. Lucky me, I don't have a receipt from a year ago and the original dealership now has new ownership and no previous records of me purchasing it. So I'll just have to get another.

I guess my worry at this point, if I get another GM throttle body, is it going to give out in another year? Is their another underlying issue? I can't think of any other way something else could cause the TPS to blow or short out in the original one. Assuming that a new TB is the fix to my problem because running an ohm test, this one seems to be fine.
