Personally, I love those videos. The content, while not super professional, is very entertaining. And like mentioned above, can’t beat free. Lastly they have a couple great videos of mustang versus Camaro.

As of late, Throttle House has been producing some of the nicest, consistent FREE content on YouTube for a while. While they aren't trying to take on the super-serious-journalist perspective, they will actually test the cars under varying conditions. Just as the original video showcased, the Demon, or even Hellcats in general, are notoriously difficult to launch hard on the street.
You can bitch, you can moan, you can stomp your feet, etc., but not only was it thoroughly explained that the conditions were not ideal, even if it was, this is literally a singular performance metric and frankly, this isn't the 1960's anymore. I sure as shit hope that some of you guys consider literally any other viable metric to a vehicles performance or practicality than just drag racing. What do you expect from an old Mercedes chassis? I think Dodge has done well with the car but, it's time to retire the platform.

Their cold open for the Mustang Camaro 4cyl shootout is hilarious.

I like their videos. I'm not surprised the Vette won from the 1/4 mile.

I liked their content. But they ruined their credibility with their "C8 has horrible understeer" video. The owner of the tested C8 spoke out on the MECF forum, the car had a faulty TPM sensor and was not able to go into any other drive mode than tour.
So they knowingly tested a faulty car that can not use sport or trackmode to get views with their understeer comments. This is really bad journalism just begging for views.

Kinda apples and oranges comparison but never the less entertaining. I finally saw a C8 (white) in person the other day. I was sceptical at first, now I'm all in!

The C8 launches HARD. Corvetteforum is full of regular owners posting fairly repeatable 2.8 sec 0-60 times.
Theoretically the Demon is quicker but it is more difficult to do. Get it right (takes practice) and you are fast. Otherwise you get smoked by the C8. On the street the Corvette is a formidable opponent for any car. |

They look so much better in person. We were at the Corvette Museum Saturday and I was blown away.

Dodge uses way too much torque management. There was a race with a Hellcat,
against a Camaro and Mustang. The girl driving the Hellcat bitched about the torque management. I had a Charger, and you need to tune it out. I had a 2000 Avenger ES. You could feel the ECU back off the fuel on shifts at WOT. I used to be a hardcore Dodge guy, but they ruin their cars with way over protective torque management. The Demon and Hellcat need a DSG Transmission, with programmable TQM. IF they would have ONLY turned out the TQM on that Demon, it would be a whole different race. Even with launch control and those settings, there's still too much TQM on the Dodge. My Mustang, doesn't have any that I can feel, and neither does my Camaro. I would still buy a Challenger if I had a Garage for it, and tune it out. On the Avenger, there was an actual signal wire for TQM between the trans and ECU; I only had to hook up an interrupt switch to turn it off. It had to be tuned out of the Charger. |
