2018 ZL1 Needs a Front Camera to save the front Splittler!

Just wanted to say that GM should have installed a front camera to save the front splitter when parking.

Look up Gen5DIY, front camera. You send in your HMI for reprogramming or you purchase one from them and install. Hit the new camera icon on your CarPlay and you have a front facing camera. Cost is roughly $600-$1200 depending if you reprogram your HMI or purchase one from them.

Just need pictures or YouTube on how to connect the camera to the display unit.
Gen5DIY front camera looks awesome
But I need to see how to run the wire and connect it to the module ...
More than the video showing the result we all want....

It does not connect to the display, wires go to the HMI and you need the harness and swicher.

Having it on my Vette is one of the best things. My bet it will be on next gen.

I just back in to spots that concern me, that way I can use the rear camera and be sure I'm ok.

Yes I always back in, however there’s times when you just can’t.

Front Camera Kit from Gen5DIY.com

I highly recommend getting the front camera mod from Gen5DIY.com, reprogram your HMI, install harness and place camera where you want on the front area. Works great, you can also turn the camera on anytime while driving for 25 seconds.

If you are looking for another option, you can find one at the link below. Check the comments for a few additional details. I haven’t tried this. Has anyone else?

I have mentioned this to various GM engineers since the 5th gen ZL1 came out. I'd even settle for a couple of the 5th gen backup sensors (ultrasonic?).

All I could get out of any of them is the simple statement, 'learn how to drive your car'
