Car is @ dealer for Exhuast Rattle

So at 3316km I had to bring my Camaro in for the Exhaust rattle from the rear right. It was getting pretty bad.
On start up it made quite the racket until it warmed up, about 20 seconds and while driving. Accelerating in any gear around 1800-2300 rpm I would get an annoying buzz/ rattle. So pretty much all the time.

https://vimeo.com/168079827

I will update this when the dealer gets back to me.

I also found a screw in my Left Front tire. It was not leaking and looks like it has been there for a little while.
Dealer said you are not allowed to patch / fix run flats. But did mention I had Tire warranty for 1 year and if I need a new one...it would be replaced free.
Not sure where this 'Nitro Tire warranty' came from? I did purchased extended warranty package, so maybe it was snuck in there? I don't really care, especially if I am not going to have to pay $375 for a new tire.

Again, I will give an update.

curious, only when you are "using" the npp features? Meaning that it is in different modes?

It rattles in all modes.
Video is start up in Tour mode.

You should hear it in Stealth. What a racket. Valves closed is the worst.
Track mode is a little better while driving, the valves are open. But the buzz / noise around 2000rpm is still there.

Unacceptable. Clearly they didn't engineer the NPP valves to an acceptable standard. For a $800-900 upgrade (can't recall), that is unacceptable.

GM needs to fix this issue. On my brand new one, had a slight rattle at low rpm and have since run it in track mode with no noticeable issues. However I know if I go back to tour or stealth mode, I will hear the rattle again and it will drive me nuts.

GM engineering needs to get a retrofit repair in the books as this seems to be a pretty large issue (% wise).

A rattling upgraded option exhaust is not normal and is not acceptable. This isn't a $20k Camaro anymore. Mine stickered at $48k and I won't let little rattles or other issues slide like I would have on a $24k 4th gen Fbody. They have moved this car upmarket and need to support it properly.

Of course not. Just need to think of what/where to go next.

I agree with the 50K car with a $900 performance exhuast that rattles and buzzes.

Awesome.

Awesome.
I would post something in the Camaro Issues sub forum and ask other members what was done for them when they reported the problem. My impression is that it was enough of an issue that GM made some tweaks at the production stage to address the issue.

Sorry to hear.

Aftermarket kits are pricey, but I wonder if the aftermarket NPP-compatible kits would also crap-out after a few thousand miles....?

Good Luck though. I'd get GM to make it right.....

So this Tire warranty I have covers $300.
List on the front tire is $560!!!!
Dealer had price of $512. I got a written estimate for $445.
So they will match that but I have to pay the difference.

Sucks about the Screw....but didnt have to shell out $500 + for a new tire.

I have a case open with GM about the exhuast. I will follow up with them later.

My exhaust rattles as well on startup... it's fricken embarrassing how bad it sounds when you're expecting a deep solid rumble and you get this high-pitched whine...

Keep us posted about what ends up happening! I'm going into the dealership sometime next week to have my LPO footwells done and I'm going to ask them to investigate the rattle as well and see what they say. I'll let you know if anything useful comes up

I have had the rattle since day one. I am not bringing it in until a proper fix is implemented. Wtf is Chevrolet doing? It has been long enough for a fix, are they really gonna f us all, and leave it like this?

Hi ShadowPuppet,

I can understand your frustration with this exhaust rattle, as it’s not what you expected out of your Camaro. I’m glad to see you’re able to get your vehicle into the dealership next week, and will be addressing this concern. If you would like any additional assistance, I would be happy to connect you with our Customer Care team in Canada, as they would be in the best position to do so. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have in the meantime!

Have a great day,

Angela O.

Since I have been told that the Exhaust Rattle that has developed only on the right side is Normal.....maybe I need to talk to that Customer Care Team.
You are aware, as I am sure GM is, the extent this Faulty Exhuast (that we paid $900 for) is causing customers headaches.
Please provide information on contact info for the Customer Care Team.
Thank You.
