With other bolt ons it should be in the 80-100hp gain range.. I don't remember my exact gain but attached is my dyno sheet so you can get a feel for the powerband, I am pretty sure I have the older version of the ss1 vvt

also found this package for cheaper but its a texas speed cam i would stick to stage 1 only to save some money and not have to change the converter. what do you think of this one? https://www.glennsautoperformance.co...31923034521681
I have this same kit, sorta. I went with the stage 3 cam and the BTR springs and pushrods, and a Melling 10295 oil pump. And a 3200 stall converter, which I swapped out to a 4500 as the 3200 wasn't enough for the cams power band with my LOD intake manifold.

Would you recommend going with the ss2 then? I see those are pretty much the same specs as the ss2 I donít plan on getting a converter

Yes I would go with the SS2 but I would email gpi and ask them why they made the change.

Well, if you get a converter, they range anywhere from 800 dollars up to around 1400 or so, depending on what you get, single disc or multi disc, and what brand you buy. I got a Circle D 5C single disc 4500 stall. When I chatted with Chris at Circle D about my build, power level and the Camaro being used as a street car only, with maybe a couple track days a year, he said the single disc would be all I would need. Multi disc's are needed when you get to over 600rwhp and up. Mine cost me 950 dollars, shipped. Install would probably cost you around 1200 or so, depending on your shops labor, plus you would have to get a good tranny cooler to keep it cool.

I emailed again and he said yes we change our cam specs periodically after at first he said no. He said they donít recommend running the stock converter with the ss2 but makes no sense if itís the same specs as the old ss1
