Running the exact same setup from JRE 3 years, nothing leaking, you could eat off it. Just pull the damper and the cover and inspect and replace the timing cover seal if that's what it is..

Obviously the front seal was damaged during the pulley install. That's what it looked like from the beginning to me. Probably $20 seal. But you need someone to do it right this time.

Update #3

You hit the nail on the head ZO6 Bryan. The dealership have now agreed to repair (non-warranty) the seal and they also found that the timing cover was also damaged. The tech said the damage was done during the install of the pulley; which I had installed by a speed shop in Murrietta, CA. The tech is saving the parts so I can take some pics to post. Hope to have her back from the dealership late Thursday. Never going back to that speed shop again.

Well I am glad you found what it was and gotten it taken care of. Sucks that it was damaged by someone who should have known better.

Are they going to have to replace the front cover as well? That sucks. Have you thought about bringing it to the attention of the shop that did it?

You would have to be pretty sloppy to ruin a crank seal swapping a pulley. I can't see how it could leak unless the timing cover was removed as well and not aligned properly. If the timing cover was removed, this is certainly the issue.

.

I would take pictures , and I would make one more visit to that shop , and have a very calm conversation with the manager , and would take the damaged parts and photos and show him what his guys did , so he would know that you know who did it to you , just to mKe sure !

I agree. This was one of the first mods I did and it was a simple couple of hours wth the correct puller and installer. Wonder if they got a block of wood and hammer to put it back on and missed and hit the cover.

Im wondering if the speed shop in Murrieta, CA that did the work was the same one I'm thinking of. The shop is considered an authority in the area for completing mods.

I got the car back and all fixed, no leaks. Attached is a photo of the timing cover. Notice the knick at about the eleven o'clock position.

I was near that shop a few days ago, when picking up my wickerbill. I wanted to stop by and ask them for a quote on work. I have heard many people on here recommend them for work.

Looks like someone had a hammer and a chisel for tools.
