I found one on Ebay and got it ordered. I'll let you guys know as soon as it comes in and if it works. I spent a ridiculous amount on this. Thanks GM for making me broke.

Well I got it all installed. It's working beautifully. These instructions helped me out greatly. I can't thank you enough. I now have Bluetooth and Onstar. Iwantone2, good luck in your search for one. The setup on the onstar was a bit long. I had to call in twice and speak to the (technical team) they called it. The VCIM I purchased had never been activated. It came out of a red camaro. They were able to transfer my existing account over to this new VCIM. I did have to give them the DECME ID and also the S/N and also my VIN twice. But they got it all situated and it's working 100%.

Guys.

I have a quick question. If we order the Onstar module from the dealer and give them a VIN number from a 2SS/2LT will the order go through? Or could we ask a friend with a 2SS/2LT to order one?

To answer both your questions in one word: Nope!

Gm/OnStar will only replace the OnStar module for the following three reasons: crash/fire/theft. We can't buy or request a new module unless those conditions are met. And even if, heaven forbid, you get in an accident, they will only replace your module with the same module that is in your car now.

I'm thinking about going to the junk yard and looking for a GM vehicle that may have an onstar with bluetooth module. Will any GM vehicle work if it has the module or does it have to be from a Camaro?

I believe they are also used on other vehicles as well. Just make sure you get the module with P/N: 20842731 and grab the little bluetooth antenna as well.

What EDGE said...if you grab another one, it won't work. there are people with trucks that got their hands on a Camaro OnStar module and it didnt work.

I'm guessing it has to be from a 2010 Chevy for it to work.

I have talked to the schrams people selling these VCIM they are gouging people because they can. I won't go $450, not even $350. But as usual someone will do this.
