What's the difference between long tube and shorty?
I get the basics on what the difference is but performance wise would spending the extra on long tube be worth it or does the shorty give just as much extra power? Thanks

Shorties are more for sound and not power. They add a little bit, but it's not worth it compared to LTs. Go with a good set of long tubes and a tune from Matt@FSP.

A couple of inches.
Depends if you're giving or receiving, doesn't matter much to the giver but if your on the receiving end a couple of inches makes a big difference Couldn't help myself, I'm bored babysitting my CNC. |

With a set of long tubes, cat delete pipes, 3" axle back, cold air intake, and a good tune, I've gained approximately 50hp at the wheels in my car. Long tube headers will give you more power, and sound great if you like to hear your car. There are a few draw backs though. A good set is expensive. Have to get the car tuned after which can get pricy. A lot of dealerships will try to void your warranty if you have one, and install headers.. many many variables to think about. But if you just want it to sound good..get shorty. It's all in what you want to do with the car. Have a goal in mind, and stick with it..until it changes..lol

A good set of shorty headers will give you some gain (15rwhp ~) but long tube headers can easily double that. It is definitely worth the extra coin.

I'd allocate that money elsewhere. The power, if any, just doesn't justify the time invested In installing them.

ported tb, and hf cats will get you the same/more power as LT's
I just put on Solo HF cats i got from ^^^^^ Chase, and i have BBK offroad xpipe. no mufflers. and guarentee its meaner than a good deal of header installed cars. granted. Headers w/ HF cats and a cam is a pure "orgasm in a tube" and will sound better. but the cats are amazing. clip to come soon

0 hp gain from ported tb. Better throttle response is all you get. you will get some power from hi flow cats but both combined will not give you the power of lt headers. you have to put hi flow cats on with the headers the stock cats won't fit.

LT's are the most effective bolt on you can buy for your car. Customers and our experience shows they make 35-40 rwhp which is 10% more power on these cars. All the other bolt ons like CAI, ported TB, shorty headers, axle/catback are worth 0-maybe 12 rwhp.
