BTR Stage 3: 1 year, ~25k miles
This is just a status update on my cam/heads install. I put my BTR Stage 3 in last fall. Had a great time driving it ~25k miles over the past year. My long commute sucks and my car makes it better.
I spent this past weekend swapping in new BTR valve springs and valve seals. My understanding is this is about the recommended mileage life on the springs. I think the seals were fine but I changed them since I was in there. I used the BTR valve seal install tool for the first time, it works well. Some of the old valve seals were a bit tough to pull off with pliers. Not sure if there is a tool for this, I might try to make up something for next time. I think part of it is I'm getting old (and weak) and spent too much time bent over the engine. Getting the locks back in made me wish I had an extra set of hands, but I got better at it as I went along. I used grease to hold them in place but the key was making sure the retainers were perfectly centered on the locks as I released the springs. I used one hand to hold the top of the compressor square as I released the nut. I was glad I bought an extra bag of locks so I didn't have to chase a few that dropped. Glad I got it done before winter. Feeling old and sore today.

Yeah being hunched over an engine bay isn't pleasant for anyone at any age I can assure you hehe. Congrats on the spring swap.

I put 45k miles or so on mine and sold them. I know a few that went way past that. As long as you take care of the springs like no cold revs you should be good.
