p0008 code briefly came on
2010 V-6...timing chain replaced at around 40,000 miles....has 104,000 miles on it now.
Driving it relatively quickly after starting it on a cold day here in Southern Indiana....looked down and 1/2 of the check engine light was illuminated....10 seconds later, the other 1/2 of the light came on. Didn't have my code reader with me, so I pulled in to a parts place and had the guy scan the OBD...when he printed a sheet out for me it was concerning "timing chain/tensioner" code, which I assume meant the p0008 code. I asked him to clear the code out...he said he couldn't for some reason, but when I started it, it was gone. I've noticed no noticeable drop in engine performance and it has not come on since. Advice, comments, personal experience with this? Any input is always appreciated, and as always I appreciate being able to access the forum. |

At this point I would just keep your eyes on it. There really isn't much you can do if the code already cleared itself, unless you want to get spendy and proactive. Hopefully it was just an anomaly.

Time to trade in for a V8. Not being serious, but I figured someone who was being serious would say it eventually.
I think InFiD3ViL said it best. Monitor it and hope for an anomaly.
