Isn't that what many songs do? A lot of popular songs play off your emotions because it is something that you can relate yourself to. It might be more of a spur of the moment thing but it isn't that much different than writing a song about falling in love or breaking up.

That line reminds me of the old Chevy ad with "See the USA in your Chevrolet" as a slogan. And yes, I'm old enough to remember it from B&W TV ads. There was even a song that went with the ad.

many of them are just patriotic, toby keith in particular has a few songs just about America. my favorite (below)
many of them also go overseas to entertain the troops (also in the video)
