Question DISABLING THE NANNIES?

Does anyone know if there's a way to make the TC and StabiliTrak systems default to "off" instead of "on"? I'm tired of having to hold the button down for seven seconds every time I start the car.

Nanny controls, AFM, skip shift...etc. Big brother is ruining the automobile industry in America.

I have a dyno tune, but I did'nt think to ask the tuner to modify the nannies. I don't even know if you can (hence the reason for this thread). I'm not trying to disable them completely. I just want the default status to be "off," instead of "on." I suppose if I had to disable them permanently, I might be open to that.

I hate the fact that they kick in every time I floor it. It's especially embarrassing when I forget to disable them at the track.

SLP made a TCS reversal module for the 4th gen F-Body..........maybe a few dozen e-mails to them will help encourage them to make one for the 5th gen.

That would be the ticket! That way you could still turn them on in bad weather if you wanted.

I think my Dad's are turned off, HP tuners. Man I feel no differences when holding that button down other then seeing the lights on the dash. Could be wrong.

Stabilitrak and some of the tcs are controlledby the ebcm, no tuning suite will be able to touch that stuff. You can disable the power reduction part of the tcs in the ecm, but even with that disabled, the stabilitrak will still apply some brake pressure on the rears to try and stop/control the wheelspin. In most cases it will power through that.

Holding the button is the only way as of now, to fully disable it, OR pull the ABS fuses at the track. Be aware the brakes will suck with the fuses pulled, but there will be no stabilitrak assist.
