What do you guys think?
I don't know guys... kinda close:
1. Plug 2. Patch 3. New Tire - If I go this route I will have to get 2 new rears due to already about 35 - 40 percent wear.... dang... Plug is a no go I think... this would have to get patched, but then it is very close to the side wall. Thing is I have no idea how long its been there, and I took a trip to Santa Barbara on Tuesday. Checked the tire pressure today and its holding steady where it needs to be. Just wondering what to expect when I hit the Firestone tomorrow. |

If you don't track the car, a patch-plug would be just fine.
If you track it - don't question it and get a new tire.

I don't track it, and I'm hearing you guys that a patch will work. I'm about a year or so from new tires, and want to buy all four to match (since I'm wearing Indy 500 Wide Ovals for my fronts).
Gonna stick with these NT555 G2's. Thanks for the feedback! |

I buy road hazard warranty and get the prorated replacement cost when tires are damaged. True story last year my wife's car hit a pothole and the run flats got her home. Replaced the tire under road hazard. Two months later the same tire hit another pothole and popped again.
Can't count the number of nails we've picked up over the years. Definitely worth the couple of extra bucks per tire.

A plug patch. Best of both worlds and will not leak

You're damn close to sidewall, but agree with others patch should work fine for you.

I think tire shops will claim too close to sidewall, you may have to plug that yourself
