I think you are right. As the LSD cold, its will makes sound. After its warm the sound will go away

Mine makes noise as well, moaning at low speeds on turns. Also occasionally a chatter in similar situation when its cold out. While I agree with some that rear end noise isn't hugely concerning for such a stout rear end, it does bother me as most don't have this issue and I didn't either for several thousand miles.

I am at 11K miles and the groan on tight parking lot turns has returned. I guess it's time to change the fluid again.

Take it to the dealer, there is a service bulletin on it. Even with the noise the rearend is bombproof, I haven't seen any post of rearend breaking in the 1/4.

Why would I take up my whole day letting the dealer do it when I can change it myself in 15 minutes?

Because they have a service bulletin and it isnt just changing fluid plus it is free. Also it might not be that problem, they also changed my ring and pinion because the backlas was off.

Mine is noisy also, Right From Brand new, about 3700 miles now.

Has a slight whine most all of the time doesn't really bother me because I can't hear it unless the radio is off, but if they are replacing them for this I may take them up on it.

I have seen either you or other cutomer care reps chime in from time to time. What I would really like to know (AND THIS POST IS IN MO WAY MEANT TO BE SARCASTIC OR SNIDE OR A FLAME) is what kind of power do you really have? What can you really accomplish for us?? Other than lend a sympathetic ear? Of course, from my point of view I would like to think that a customer rep could REALLY make a huge difference. IMHO others would want hear your answer.

Yes, and they also found my backlash off, not just a change of fluids.

Hello noah677,

We act as a liaison between the customer and the dealership. As we are not certified technicians, we are unable to provide technical advice. With that being said, we schedule appointments for our customers when a vehicle diagnosis is necessary. Depending on the diagnosis, we alert the proper departments of the concern and exhaust our resources to assist in a resolution. I hope this helps you as well as others understand our role, and we want to ensure everyone knows we are here to help!
