LOOK WHAT I FOUND IN MY ZL-1

So we had the inner wheel well out the other day to add a tow hook to the front of my car to make it easier to tie down in the trailer and incase I go off road at the road coarse.

I found it amusing that my car has Z-28 parts from a car that does not exist when my 2013 ZL-1 was built.

Ted.

Inner Front Wheel Liner top side.

You can only see it with it removed.

Marked as Z-28, I've had mine off several times and never took the time to look. I'll double check next time. Nice find Ted!

Yep, my 2012 has this too. When I asked Al O about it at Camaro5Fest he said that the vendors started stamping parts Z-28 without GM's approval and then they changed the name to ZL1 at the last minute, so the dies never got changed due to cost.

Al Op, has already stated the ZL1 was in fact suppose to be named the Z-28 but at the last minute they changed the name to what we know now which is the ZL1.

Yes, I read this somewhere, too. Al didn't feel it was Z/28 worthy.

Going back to threads in 2009, people were talking about the supercharged engine for the Z/28.

Seems there was a thread bout this already.

not knocking the OP with so many threads on Camaro 5.

Interesting none the less. .
Just wonder if they would have sold
more SC'ed 6.2 LSA Camaro's if the
name hadnt been changed to ZL1
