http://videos.streetfire.net/video/5...ac00038286.htm
I normally supercharge all my cars and love the whine of the SC. Enjoy |

That is the main reason I supercharged my new Viper. You can't beat the sound but the TT's when fully opened have that unforgetable wastegate sound. Individuality is one of the reasons that make musclescars such a great hobby.

I don't know much about SCs but don't they have by pass valve sounds as well. That can sound close to a wastegate chatter from what I heard.

I like the chatter more than just the psssssht. The WRX's seem to come with them stock or 90% of wrx owners have a certain brand installed, I just like the way it "simmers down" instead of just blasts one shot of air. |

Most Supercharged Vipers use Paxton Novi 2000's. Probably 90% currently. The Paxton can put 1000rwhp on 93 octane and I prefer it over the Roe which is the only other system. All I have ever used is Paxton for S/C applications. You can run a 10 rib belt from NAPA and it will last for 10,000 miles so maintenance is real cheap on the Paxton. Plus you will not throw a 10 rib belt. Most people run an 8 rib by the way. The brackets are custom made by Doug Levin in Miami and bulletproof set-ups are always worth a few dollars more.

Search for "wastegate chatter" or "compressor surge" on youtube, and you will hear that is just like the mustang but with a turbo and low boost.

Yeah I'm saying I like that sound better than a BoV and like the fact that the STI/WRX comes like that over say an EVO with a BoV.
I still think EVO's better imho. |
