Couldn't agree more! Checking this forum daily is killing me though! Can't wait for the day I check in on this forum and read "Camaro ZL1's are shipping"! But of course I have to remain calm until then because I want Chevrolet to take the time to get it right.

I spoke to my dealer this weekend and he assured me that I will be gettng a 2012. I'm in a wait a see mode.

Morning All,

I have been quite and watching for the last three years. In Oct of last year on the first day of ordering I placed my order with a dealer that had two Allocations. PZDMN4 I have read every post on this site and followed up with my Dealer every other week. I never got a call from them until last week. The inventory manager said he was calling to let me know that there is a good chance they won't get their second allocation. It was like pulling teeth to get that from him. In turn He was hinting to offer me a 2013. I told him I really was not interested because I had painted my Toy building to match it and had an artist air brush 2012 on the walls.

Should I be Concerned?????

I'm not sure who's crazier.....The guys that think the 2012 ZL1 will soar in value because of its collectability, low VIN or limmited production or the guys who think it will be cutting edge, state of the art forever?

I think it would be fair to the people that put a deposit on the ZL1 6 months ago, to only build the 2012 ZL1 in limited numbers - hopefully not more than 1000 if GM won't stop at the ones already built.

Also, I hope that the '13 will have VINs that would follow the '12s like 1001, 1002.....

Otherwise, what's the incentive to still get a '12 in May/June when the '13 comes out in July?

I also think that GM should follow something good that Ford did with the GT and the Boss Laguna Seca: declare the total number of cars to be built at the onset, an keep it low.

That to me would show that GM cares, not just that they're after our money...

I disagree. When they state the number being built, then the dealers start playing the mark up game. This way, if the number is unknown, the dealers are less likely to put their markup on it.

Yea, GM's first and formost concern should be limiting production as much as possible..

Im Very sure GM needs to make a few more than 1000 of these to even come close to covering their costs....My guess would be even at 3000 in 12 they arent even comming close.

They have already declared this wont be a limmited production car, so unless the unforseen happens, your going to have to buy your ultra rare car somewhere else.
