These pics were clearly taken in the September or October time period, not in January.

We DO test them before you can buy them.

Actually the yellow car is a V14 that we're going to offer in 2035 -- but please keep that between you and me, OK?
...ok then Scott, take me to your leader... ..and to that secret hanger at Milford your hiding away that LS7 powered Z/28...., just sayin'...

For all we know there could be most anything under that hood from a LS7, a new LT Vett DI engine, a TT V6, or just a bunch of hampsters.
New camaro 1014! now whith the optional LH with 510 hampster Power! it would be so awsome for the MPG want one!

This car is a 2010 CTF vehicle and they are testing the dual mode performance exhaust system that will be available soon at your local Chevy performance parts dealer. It will work with 2010-14,15... V8s.

That is all. Go back to work now.

Can anybody read the date on that bell? All I can make out is 196?. If that last number is a 7 that would mean 1967, the first year of the Z28. Read between the lines people.

Life is hilarious. This picture is the first thing I saw on the kitchen table of my fire station, 30 seconds after my last post.

I realized that the Camaro isn't included on the list.

So, if this isn't a Z/28 test mule, where is our Z/28?

This buzz of an LS7 is good news. I'm trading my car away this spring and I still can't decide between a ZL1 and a GT500, but if there was a Z28 with an LS7..... I'm sold on that!!!

I like the upper grille a little better, but I never did like the v6 front end, and pasting the mail slot in just makes it lame.

Based on the posts from Fbodfather and the little bit of info available, I'd say they are just testing the NPP exhaust that will go for sale as a performance part. Others have said it, I agree.

But would be sweet if it was more than that.

I'd say GM will keep the LF3 pretty conservative in cars like the XTS and Impala SS with HP in the 360 to 400 range. Maybe bump it up a notch to 450+ in something like the ATS-V.

But it would be capable of way more than that. We have a member here with a LFX with forged internals running twin turbos making over 650HP at the crank...maybe closer to 700 based on his dynos. Hasn't had it out at a 1/4 mile track yet, but did have it on a 1000' track. Based on his early runs, he should be capable of low 11s for sure.

Re: 6-piston Brembo front brakes - IF an LS7'd ZEE comes to fruition, its Curb Weight would be roughly = GT500 (which also has 6-pot brakes). As we now know from Lightning Lap, a 1LE with "only" 426 hp is a near-equal to the GT500 in lap time at VIR. Add the extra power to the 1LE and speeds will rise and times will lower...especially with more substantial braking. Add in its likely use in multi-lap HPDEs (for the serious ZEE intenders), and the 6-pot Brembos become mandatory...or at least part of a Track-Ready Package. Call it a "systems approach", just as the ZL1 was/is.

Re: Pricing - 1SS/1LEs come in at $37-ish Base with NPP + aero aids for the lightest, least-festooned version, which makes a great starting point for a serious ZEE. Add $7,500 for the LS7, $2,500 for the ZL1 brakes, $2,500 for composite hood AND Michelin PSS rubber, the true "equalizer"....

Grand Total: Under $50,000...just under...

Make mine Double-BLACK...and hold the stripes.
