Bad brake noise while in reverse, Brembos

I'm experiencing a grinding noise while backing out of my driveway (or backing down any decline) I'm sure this has something to due with the ABS but it is a sensation (almost a grind instead of the normal pulsating) that I havn't felt on any other vehicle other then this 2SS. Has anyone else experiencing this? Does it sound normal?

I have experienced the same thing, but it's only once in a while. I can feel a vibration in the brake pedal and it sounds like grinding.

How often are you driving these cars? You aren't getting excessive rust/salt buildup on the rotors are you?

It wouldn't hurt to have the dealer look at it, but it is likely due to light surface corrosion on the rotor friction faces. Since there has been a of rain in California this winter, parking overnight with wet rotors will definitely cause it. After one or two stops, it should be gone. If not, have them check the parking brake adjustment.

Mine does the same thing every time im backing my car down my declined driveway with the wheels turned.. IDK what it is but its my front right corner.. I assumed it was the sand left over from our snowstorms on the street.

Hrmm...

Probably nothing.. good think i have that warranty! :-)

I have noticed this grinding noise backing out and it sounds like when the shifter pops out of gear and it makes a noise similar to that and only in reverse. I keep my car in a garage and only drive in dry weather so i don't think it is rust on the rotors.I have not investigated it real good since it seems to only do it when i first back out of garage.I am trying one thing and that is i left car in gear no emergncy brake...could be that something in it is sticking. I report back the next time i drive it.

I have been experiencing the same thing. Only when the car is reversing or just rolling backwards but it only happens once in a while not all the time. Doesn't seem to be a big issue but when I take my car in for an oil change i'll have them look at it.

Mine does this too. I can reproduce it almost every time backing into the parking space at local Hollywood Video (which happens to be at a slight incline). Its a CRUNCH kind of sound which comes and goes almost instantly.

It happened to me today when I got on the brakes a little hard. The only time that it has happened while going forward.

Based on the questions above, I should have also mentioned that the vehicle is my daily driver and there isn't an issue with sand and ice in N Alabama. When it happened today it was sunny and almost 70. : )

Happens to me from time to time too... maybe once a month. I have to back my car out the driveway every day so there's no real rhyme or reason to it.
