Does anyone know if there is anything planned to go to MT. Rushmore or Crazy Horse?I am not driving that far and not going to at least Mt. Rushmore.Trying to figure out if I should arrive a day early. Thanks.

I know there are some events the wife and I won't be doing and definitely wanted to site see a little bit. We know for sure we are going to Rushmore. Would be pretty cool to get a group to cruise there one afternoon or something.

They are keeping the poker run info quiet but i hope there is something out to the sites or I will have to do things myself also. I plan for some sight seeing myself.

We are going to be doing some sight seeing Friday and you are more than welcome to join in. We have some friends joining us from SLC and they are not participating in Sturgis, so we were thinking about Mt Rushmore, Needle Hwy and so on.

I never even registered because I wasn't sure I could get enough time off. It's probably way too late now. I've been looking at hotels in Spokane, Billings, and Sturgis, but I haven't had a lot of time with work and other things to book anything, and I don't want to be 50 miles away from the event. Driving back and forth every day would be a PITA. :(

Hey, I think you still have time to register and as far as hotels go, most are staying at the quality inn of Spokane valley the the holiday inn grand Montana in billings. As far as sturgis goes, someone just posted on Facebook that they are dropping out and giving up their room at the host hotel. The days inn is across the street also. Many facilities close by.

Deadwood is only about 14 miles. Spearfish is about 16 miles. Rapid City is about 25 miles. All have hundreds of rooms. Sturgis is located at exits 30 and 32 on Interstate 90. The Holiday Inn Express, Days Inn, and Super 8 are all at exit 30. The Best Western and Starlite Motels are at exit 32. There is also a small Ramada Inn at exit 48 (Black Hawk or Summerset). There are also a few motel rooms in Whitewood, SD which is at exit 23. Being in Sturgis would be the ideal setting, but there are other options which are pretty good. The Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort has some log cabins at Exit 17 (605-722-1800).
