Trunk is uneven

Hey guys, posting this for my friend. He has a 2013 Camaro 2SS/RS.
Here's what he said.

So recently I have noticed on the back of my car my tailights are uneven. If you look in the pics you can see there is a gap in the right side and not the left, I have even stuck my finger under to check, left side you can't put your finger under and on the right side it goes in easy. It's not a big deal but it's really bothers me and I was hoping if anyone else has experienced this or would recommend anyways on how to fix it? Maybe taking off the rear fascia or trunk to even them our? Any help or suggestions would be huge, thanks!

There are bumpers on the corners where the trunk makes contact when it latches. They screw in and out for adjustment.

Hey bro, thank you, would it be bad or affect my car in anyway if I were to just take both of the adjusters out, I took both of mine out so I can be sure it's even. This is my car on the post.

Leave them in and adjust them as needed, taking them out doesn't mean they will still be even and if you take them out they might not push down far enough on the rubber seal which will cause water to leak inside your trunk

Those two adjustable posts are the only thing that holds up the back edge of your trunk lid when down force from the air-stream hits your spoiler at highway speed. The latch mechanism and those posts serve to hold the back of the trunk lid solidly in place. Without the posts the trunk gasket gets compressed beyond normal and the trunk lid will tilt downward on the highway. (There are also two adjustible posts under the hood for the same reason).
