A6 tranny owners: what kind of aftermarket cooler do you have?

I'm getting ready to order an external trans cooler for my A6 and I'm in need of some advice. I saw some pretty cool ones on Summit's site that have a built in fan. I just need to know what other items I will need as in hose fittings, etc.

so please chime in if you have already upgraded to an external cooler. which one did you buy and what else did you need to complete the installation?

Get one where you can use threaded fittings (not the clamp on rubber hoses). The 6L80E can run some pretty stout pressure in the cooling lines. Also, the bigger the better, especially here in Florida.

don't most of the trans coolers have it to where you can screw a hose fitting on the inlet and outlet sides? then of course you just slip the hoses on the fittings with clamps, right?

I'm looking at the following cooler. would this work pretty nicely?

The cooler looks like a good one. That cooler has NPT fittings. What I am saying is make sure your connections are all hard line and/or high pressure line. Ron Davis had to redo the SST radiator multiple times because they found that the 6L80E can run some fairly high pressure through the cooling lines. I have Braided Stainless Steel line between the transmission and the cooler but that is a little pricey.
