Mickey Thompson also makes a 28x6.00x17 front that will work on a 17x5 Weld front rim.

I've been running a set of 17x7 Race Stars up front with a true 215 radial, drives like stock.

You could do 18x8's and run a 245 too.

Here is a 17x7/215 vs 18x9.5/265:

18X7 & 17X10

I've had this setup 170+ and it feels pretty solid.

And yes i had to purchase rear lca's and toe rods to get the alignment where I wanted. The ebrake cables will need multiple zip ties to be held off of the wheel.

Car handles well, when i first started i was in your shoes. Yeah it would have been nice to have some front skinnies but i couldnt find a tire for a 18x5 that was within the 28 inches. But i also knew that i couldnt make sharp turns if i had too with skinnies so i went ahead and went with the 18x8 and loved it. I know alot of people go with the 17in setup as well. tires are more available. ill try and post pics if my car with the 18in weld rts wheels on
Nice setup you have. Could you post a picture of your rear 18x11 welds? I am about to buy 17x11 but I have a doubt that it will be “too wide” you know, like 2 inches from the fender. So if yours are great, I will go ahead and buy the 17’s.
