Trashed My Procharger Belt

Used the Ranger Method yesterday afternoon to change my clutch fluid, then took her out for some runs.

I felt a belt slip in a second gear build up of rpm (around 5k), then shifted to third, not thinking anything of it. Made another pass around my local street circuit and heard/felt a vibration. Pulled over and popped the hood and noticed fibers spinning on the unit pulley. Turned her off and noticed half the belt had shredded.

Found part of the belt wrapped up in my suspension and another on top of the fuse box.

Had to loosen a 3/4 inch bolt on front of the tensioner and a 9/16 bolt on the back of the bracket. The 13 mm brass nut on the top of the tensioner sets the preload. You can see in the pic how the bolt moves the tensioner in the groove. Interesting that counter clockwise tightens it up.

Took about an hour to complete. The best part was the test drive. She’s ready to go again!!
