cradle dropped, replacing fuel pump, need help...

Hi guys starting my build. ARH LTH headers in the car!! Kind of a hard job but came out great.

I need some instructions on how to drop the tank. I just don't want to break anything taking it down. I did not see it in the DIY section.

Thanks a lot- Mike

Have you considered cutting a hole under the rear seat? It's been done a lot.

I cut the trap door, but only because I didn't want to drop the cradle. If your cradle is dropped, I'd drop the tank. I can't remember exactly how, but I did one in a 2010 a few years ago. Here is the instructions from the LPE fuel pump setup, they go into good detail. If I can make the attachment work...

I did cut the hole also, but the pump is below the highest level of the tank, so I was at a little over 1/2 tank and when I popped the.lock ring loose fuel came spilling out.

Yes, it needs to be under a 1/4 tank too. I had the same issue the first time.

Personally, I'd cut the hole also.

But, if you want to drop the cradle, use these instructions:
http://www.pfadtracing.com/blog/wp-c...stallation.pdf
as they are very detailed and go step by step. Obviously, you can ignore the subframe bushings part.

After it's lowered or out, you have access to the lines and hoses for the tank. You will have to disconnect lines, etc from the tank and cannister. You will need tools to separate some of the lines. They are the same style used to undo the factory fuel rails.

Then there are 4 bolts that hold the tank straps to the body.

It isn't hard, just takes time.
