Weekend Results

So this weekend I decided to detail the car and truck.

Started with the Camaro. Here is a list of products used:

  1. Dawn dish soap
  2. Adams deep wheel cleaner
  3. Meguiars clay
  4. Griots Paint cleaning clay with Speed shine as lubricant
  5. Griots one step sealant
  6. Chemical Guys Pete's '53 Black Pearl Signature Paste Wax
So foamed it up with dawn, got all the old wax, etc off.

Clayed it, starting with the Meguiars clay, but it still felt rough. Got out the Griot clay, and did it agian, and it felt much better.

Then using orbital pad, applied the Griot one step sealant. I dont think it was aggressive enough, it did take out some swirls, but still have a few fine ones that you can see if your looking.

Followed up with the Petes 53. Of course it rained today, but the water is beading, and running off the car.

For my truck, i changed it up a bit, and used the following:

  1. Dawn dish soap
  2. Adams deep wheel cleaner
  3. Griots Paint cleaning clay with Speed shine as lubricant
  4. Menzerna Super Finish Polish SF 4000
  5. Menzerna Color Lock Carnauba Wax
I really liked how the Menzerna products went on, the wax felt alot smoother than the Petes 53. The truck was new, no swirls, but a few scratches you could see from the dealers cleanings.

I think I will us the menzerna products from now on. Not horribly expensive, and seem to work better than others.

The car's still yellow. Try using acid to remove the hideous color.

You have to "manage attachments" and upload each photo individually that you want in your post; but more than 1 yellow car is enough eye-burn for me.

Sorry about the color. I previously had a silver truck, and it was just too generic for me. I can stand in my office and look out, and always my eye goes to the yellow car.

Nothing to be sorry about. Every body has their own taste. Personally I like every color on Camaros except RJT. I don't hate it, it just reminds me of the color that used to be on my mom's mini van.
Car looks great. How did you like the Pete's 53?

The Petes 53 went on easy, and came off easy. The car feels wet, lol with that on there. It rained the other day, and the water just ran off without even me driving for the most part.
