87 iroc flooding when hot - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

i am looking at picking up another 87 camaro, but this time it is a real iroc. the only trouble is he says it idles low when cold but is then fine after warm up.and when it is warm and you shut it off it floods out when trying to start up again unless it cools down for a half hour or so.
would this be a mass air flow sensor, or temp sensor or throttle position sensor or????
anyone else have this problem and figured it out?

Check if it has a catalytic converter. I removed my cat and now mine does this. It's from the O2 sensor isn't heated like the newer cars. The car thinks it's ultra lean and dumps fuel to it when it's cold. It's not a huge deal but could foul plugs eventually. I put about 1000 miles a year so I don't care.

Not saying that's it but worth checking. Just peek under the passenger side.

so i got the car today and it does havea cat
but there seems to be a sensor not hooked up. it is right in the air intake right at the y to the front bumber, i don`t see any wires laying around but there is definatly a sensor there. does anyone know what it is or where the wire might be coming from? anyone have a pic of the motor showing this that i could reference
