Car clutch porn

I received this amazing piece of equipment.... This is the RPS Quad Disc Carbon clutch as provided by Hendrix-Engineering, Thomas Hendrix...

I run Standing mile events... One mile, standing start, go as fast as you can... Ergo, one mile flat footed and hauling arse... It's brutal on every piece of drive train in the entire drivetrain...

I've run the Street Slayer Triple for about two years, throwing everything I could at it, but was told point blank it would not stand up to my style of racing and driving with the new motor...

There are two reasons for this.

1. Power... The triple stood up to over 1500 rwhp in a 4600 lb car, race weight with me in the car, and it did so with no issues... It never missed a lick and was incredibly friendly to drive on the street. No....none.... Not any chatter... No on off switch characteristics like I had with my previous twin disc. The engagement was simply amazing for street driving and beastly for the strip... One of the pics below tells a story... The input shaft for my trans is a viper style shaft (big) and it's made of 300m material... Which has a 300ksi tensile strength... And note the twist in the input shaft... That's due to a very very hard dead hook at Lucas Oil Raceway at Camaro Fest III... The shaft twisted but the clutch held...

2. RPM's... I was told that turning the triple at 8 or 9 thousand rpm wasn't doable for any length of time... And I could/should be in 5th gear at over 200 mph by the half mile with my new build... So, standing on a clutch in 5th gear, throwing 2600 or more hp at it for over a half mile is asking too much of most hardware... This one though, the Quad, is designed for this environment...

It'll be a while before the clutch is installed and tested as we are still waiting on the new motor. I will be reporting back when we do install it though...

If anyone is interested, I will be selling my fully factory rebuilt triple for a great deal... I have the triple in hand and it looks like it did brand new... PM only...

Hendrix-Engineering, Thomas and RPS are amazing in the quality of product and the support before during and after the sale...

Thomas has offered to help me sell my rebuilt triple... And has supported me in many other ways. He will be upgrading my DSS axles to a newer design and mod just because... HE CAN... Love it... Thanks Thomas...

Rob Smith has told us to let him know when we finalize the measurements needed for the spacer and he will get it out immediately... We can't determine the final measurement until the new motor is in hand...

Thanks a lot for the mention...Hendrix-Engineering Street Slayer and DSS are proud to be included on such a build, it's truly a work of art. This is exactly what we mean by PROVEN parts lol!

Uhm, no it isn't...

The triple held 1450 but I've been informed it wouldn't hold the new motor power, so I upgraded...figure about 20 drive train loss due to the nine inch... The 2600 listed above is flywheel power... We are looking for 2000 + rwhp... Time will tell...

And yes, thanks for the interest but the triple is spoken for...
