Z/28 Car and Driver Lightning Lap Results!
Lap Time: 2:50.9
I have to admit I'm stunned. Having tracked my Z/28, I realize it's a very quick car -- but this is amazing. Talk about punching above your weight... [

Wow, amazing it is within a tenth of a second of the F12. Is the full article available somewhere?

That's awesome the Z/28 almost got the Viper and GTR also.
The BMW M4 ran a 3:00 lap. The 1LE ran a 2:58 last year!

They did a lot of changes to the track so comparisons might be skewed.

That's amazing. And this is considered a high speed track. If it had the same power to weight as the GTR, Ferrari, Viper, Porsche Turbo and Corvette it'd really embarrass them.

Comparing this group the Z/28 is not out-of-line weight wise. Reading their thoughts on the C7 I can't wait to see how the C7 Z06 does.

Don't you people understand? There is no reason to own a Z/28, it's always a no-brainer- choose the Corvette! Everyone knows this. Besides, all those cars would have beat the Z/28 if they had the same tires the Z does! The tires are the only thing that matters! Z/28 is an overpriced piece of crap. Sheesh
/sarc F*ckin' aye is my real opinion. Suck on it haters. GM engineers- I hope you guys are smoking cigars and drinking fine whiskey right now.

Consider this: Of the Top 11 cars tested, "Peak Speed" for the Z/28 was the 2nd Slowest, yet it clicked off a Top 5 Time!
That, folks, is very impressive...at ANY price! [Number 4, at 4+ TIMES the price, had not-yet-ready-for-primetime tires, and beat the ZEE by a 1/10, or...] |
