65 in a 35

Got caught doing 65 in a 35. Gonna plead not guilty and hope when I show up in court they make a no point deal with me. Anything else I should be doing? Am I Ina. Lot of trouble here?

Puckering your asshole would be a good start, 30 over is a pretty solid offense. Might I recommend a detector for next time.

hmm, i doubt they will throw it out.. they might plea it down.. however if they plea it down to no points you will be paying a bigger Fine....

you choose, do you want the points, or do you want to spend more money to make it go away?

Lawyer up. Generally the reduced ticket is worth the 100-200$ lawyer fee

Way back when, i got caught doing 85/65 by NJSP. arrived in a suit/tie with my big-boy pants on, and paid the $419 unsafe driving fine, trying to keep the points off. F**king insurance still saw it and gave my parents hell, saying if I had one more offense I'd be kicked off. only way to win here is to lay off the fun pedal

Several years ago (28), I was popped for 78 in a 30 by a Texas Trooper... it was a pretty unused road. I asked for Deferred Adjudication, and got it!

Paid court costs a, did a DD class, kept my nose clean for 6 months.

The guys who do those cross country rallies endorse this site. You have nothing to lose by fighting the ticket.

Only time.

Last time I fought a ticket, Cop got on the stand and said I was driving a motorcycle(!!!). Cop finished his testimony, Judge turned to me and gave the usual, "If you chose to testify anything can be used against you, blah blah, are you sure you want to testify?" I could barely contain myself when I answered, "Yes!" Soon as I did that the prosecutor jumped up and waived the charges -- she could see the cop screwed up. I got lucky.

That's a good story. Glad to hear you beat the rap. Everyone should always fight any traffic ticket. Our traffic laws and speed limits were created when people were still driving cars made in 1950 and using bias ply tires. Cars handle so much better now and are much safer. The speed limit is nothing but a tax on travelers.

And there is no excuse for traffic lights that simply run on a timer. There is nothing more annoying than sitting at a red light, wasting gas and time, when there isn't another car within miles. The whole ticket/points trap is a total ripoff.

If you're worried, I would say use better judgment before you go speeding down a road. Little late to figure out a way after you received the ticket.

This. It doesn't matter that it's no points to the dmv... it still rapes car ins. Since you are also in jersey, it makes perfect sense that that's how it worked.

OP: good luck.
