Pedders Supercar Coilovers - street settings?

My Supercars are dialed in perfectly for the track, but I'm going to take a break from tracking for the winter and want to dial down the damping. Interested in the best ride, not best performance for the street. I'll dial them stiff again for the track before my next event.

Anyone have any suggestions for optimal damping for the street? My car's only lowered 1/2" front and 1" rear, so not much risk of bottoming out.

Thanks

Ask Mr Pete.

I have a question why the ride height is set to take away the natural rake of the car?

You have to play with them to see what you like for road feel, but on the street I have them softer, top adjustment 16 from full soft, canister 12 from full soft, front/rear same settings....still has some road feel, but ride quality is good...

Good question for Jedi Master Pete. During install, we initially lowered it 1" R and 7/8" F, but per Pete's advice for optimum handling we lowered it by 1" R and 1/2" F (with stock tires/wheels). Good thing, because with my 315/30-18 track tires, the total drop is 2.2" R and 1.7" front. That is slammed, wouldn't want it any lower.

Thanks! I'll try that for initial settings.

If you're running the 305/30/19 wheel/tire setup that Pedders has, they dropped the front 15mm and 25mm rears. I think

My i ask what your ride is height is with track wheels? Curious because i kind of did the same thing. Lowered car then put on shorter track tires and car was to low, had axle issues

Lowering the car with shorter tires does not effect the suspension. It's when you drop below an inch via springs or coilovers that you start having axle problems.

Best regards,

Blake, I haven't had a chance to take a measurement, but what Tyler said is the case. I didn't adjust the coilovers at all when I installed my 18" wheels. The suspension drop is still 1/2" F and 1" R. Then the smaller track tires drop the car another 1.2", so total drop is about 1.7" F and 2.2" R. Hope that helps. I can still take the measurement if you like.

What axle problems are you having? I have an issue too, but it was there before I dropped the car. At 90+ MPH, there's a pretty good vibration coming from somewhere, it sounds like drivetrain in the rear. Not sure what it is. It's as if something is out of balance in the differential or the half shaft assemblies. It has me concerned. So far no problems other than the noise. If anyone has any thoughts, please let me know.

Yep, that's pretty much the same as 1/2" F and 1" R. For optimum handling, that's the drop.

What happens with the axles? Is there a fix? I plan on dropping my car at least 2" and plan on making 650-700rwhp

Thanks!!!

Blake, more info on ride height. With the 315/30-18s, see attached pics.

1st pic: Front fender 27" above floor
2nd pic: Rear fender 27" above floor

3rd pic: Rocker near front 3-3/8" above floor (painted portion of rocker)
4th pic: Rocker near rear, below door seam 3-7/8" above floor (painted portion)

You can see from the rocker measurements, there's a subtle rake with the front a little lower, but the car is nearly level front to rear.
