Long term ownership, cost, and satisfaction
Just curious how long you folks have had your gen5 Camaros, mileage you've put on them, repairs you've had to make, and how well you like the car after the purchase and all. I bought my 2010 2SS/RS last month and didn't give it much thought as to how this car will do as a long term, daily driver. Just curious how you cars are holding up.
I'm no stranger to maintaining my vehicles. The car I traded on for the Camaro was bought used with 18k miles. When I traded it, she had 172k on the clock and was still running the factory clutch and turbo with no issues. I just wanted something "new" and exciting. I owned the car for nine years and minus a ding or two, still looked as good as the day I bought it. |

Bought new at end of 2013; have put almost 19k miles on it, zero repairs/issues except repairs made when rear ended. Still enjoy it; can't help but smile every time I fire it up

I've had mine 3 years with about 25000 miles on it now. Only repair is tires... lots and lots of rear tires cripes! 3rd set (including originals) are going on this afternoon.
The torque of these cars just seem to shred them and I don't do burnouts either... Other than that knock on wood very good! |

4 years and 20,000 miles. I have had to have the tach replaced, actually the whole guage cluster and other than that just needing to get some new tires this spring.

Bought new, on my 4th set of rear tires and 3rd clutch in 3 1/2 years and 8400 miles.
But that's what you get with serious mods. |

I bought mine brand new in June 2010 and have over 73,000 km's on the LS3 now. I left the car stock for 4 years and in the last year and a half I finally gave in to the mod bug. With around 67k km's I added a maggy supercharger, about 5000 km's later I added a GT14 cam but before all that I got headers, cat back, tune, lowered and wheels.
Knock on wood, never had one issue mechanically. Ever. I had a rattling in the stock exhaust but I I ran a muffler delete for a while so that was on me. Mine was daily driven for the first three years as well. Since moving to Alberta I had to buy a truck for the winters. No issues at all. No check engine light, nothing. I do maintain the hell out of the car though. I have rock chips everywhere on the front of the car but that's to be expected. For the money I am very happy with what I have. Love it. |

2011 bought new, 5 years of daily driving, 113,000+ miles so far.
Had issues with the Direct Injection V6 around 72,000 miles, ended up with a valve job and new cats under warranty. Nothing you should have to worry about with the SS. Otherwise just tires and brakes.

I bought mine June 2009. Zero issues with the car. It only has 25k miles on it - I have multiple cars though. I have only needed scheduled maintenance and a set of tires. And I still love it!!!!

I've had my '10 SS for 6 1/2 years. 41,000 miles now and trouble free except for one
burnt out tail lamp bulb @ $2.50. Also replaced the battery even though the factory battery was still fine. Oil pan leak repaired by GM while under warranty and that's about it.

Bought new (Nov 2010), early 2011 SS. AC Compressor replaced under warranty. Had a problem where it wouldnt shut off correctly, I know there was a bulletin. And battery replaced, didnt have a trickle charger. Other than that just regular oil changes and did the differential as the manual advises to do so before racing.
