When you post a reply below the text box you will see a button that says manage attachments, you click on that and you get a list where you can attach pictures from your computer.Click the button that says choose file. Add those pictures one per slot and at the bottom click upload. When they dissapear from the boxes and appear at the bottom you can close that window and post your message with the pictures.

Ok. here's the new top (1st new one was just fabric, this one was complete; fabric & mechanisms)

In the 1st pic, it looks like it's sitting higher than it used to. IN the 2d pic, notice that no fabric is touching the well frame area. I'm willing ot bet that that will chnge over time. Once it starts touching the frame area, the top center rub marks begin to form.

Classicrockr,
My son had the same issue with his top after getting his top changed. I think the problem was the cables needed adjusting. Another problem is the guy that installed the new top used screws instead of rivets. After they fixed those issues his top was fine. You should have these things checked before they cause other problems.

where were the screws (that should have been rivets) at?

He followed the TSB and ground it down a bit more, painted it and covered it with tape just to make sure.

We then took it for a drive with no wind noise whatsoever. They are keeping it overnight tonight to work on one other small issue. While they have it they are going to pressure test the top for water leaks, but I expect it to pass that test.

I will update everyone on the weekend once I have it home.
I just got mine back yesterday - on the receipt it stated "Installed new top and performed 12052 TSB". Even though this was a new top including all mechanisms, this dealership must have felt the same way & did some additional trimming/fine tuning prior to installing the top. I have no wind noise right now, but look at the pics I posted earlier on this page; it seems they may need to loosen my cables just a slight bit....

If they replaced the entire mechanism then you should not have any screws. Probably one of two things the top may be tighter now and will stretch and start going down farther with more use, or it may just need more adjustments.

I had the same top replacement and TSB work done. I have about 130 miles on mine now with at least 5 top cycles and I am seeing no rub marks. When we first put it down it also rode very high like yours in the picture. I pushed it down the first time and the next time it went down a little further. Now it fully retracts. Also we had a hard time latching it closed at first. The fabric is very tight and will stretch just a little. In a few days it should be normal.

BTW... Nice to see another 45th Vert.

Thanks for the feedback guys...I really don't want to take it back - every minute of the day I just want to get out there & put the top down & drive!

Have any of you asked for extended warranties on the new tops?

My car only has 5100 miles, so I have not asked for an extended warranty.

I got one without asking. 4yr 65k. Pretty much the common one they are giving out.

Does that warranty specifically INCLUDE the top and top mech?

Update on mine...

Dealer is contacting district manager and requesting permission for a new top. They can't get it to stop leaking. I've also called Chevrolet Customer service and added a request for new top, new carpet and new seat belt support bar (under back seat) to my case number. The bar was quite rusty for a 925 mile old car. Trapped moisture does wonders on untreated metal.

The dealer is resisting the new carpet but I'm not backing down. I'm just claiming mold, bacteria, etc.

I also specifically told my service rep to tell GM service parts organization to only send me the latest revision top.

We'll see how it goes.
