Supercharger fix

I am considering a 2013 ZL1 but not sure if it might be affected by the supercharger issue. Anyone know if the issue was still present in 2013?

Yes, but realize there is an extended repair for the supercharger only by GM. I think its 7 years 100,000 mi but you can google verify that. They don't repair it, they replace the whole unit. I don't know but I think all 5th gen's might have had that spring loaded supercharger coupling until it got the solid coupler installed by the owner or a GM replacement supercharger.

Most of the 13's are. You need to have a dealer tell you if work was performed on the isolator.

Never had an issue with mine...

Extended warranty by GM is 10yrs or 100,000 miles free replacement.

The warranty on the supercharger is 10 yr or 120,000 miles. So don't let that bother you. If it rattles take to the dealer and have them replace the supercharger with the new design.

I do not know.
If a dealer did replace it then it should be in their computer database. I don't know if there were any markings or serial numbers on the replacement supercharger to externally verify them. Taking the belt off and twisting the pulley back and forth might reveal excess slack or noise but I wouldn't count on that. Even the solid replacement couplers appear to have a small amount of slack in them. Listening to it if has already started going bad is a rattle noise that sounds like marbles in a can rolling around.
It is lots of work to take off the supercharger to see if it has been done or not. So I can not answer your question, sorry

i don't have dealers around here, which can tell me, if this work was performed on the isolator.

And how i know from this forum, the redesign has not just an other isolator, it have also an seal.

There are 6 bolts holding the snout on. There is the isolator. You can see for yourself upon delivery if you're mechanically inclined.

To reiterate: All you have to do (short of confirmation from the dealer) is confirm with the vendor that the isolator is not the of the original spring type.

I cannot state it any more plainly. If the vendor cannot assure you the original isolator has not been replaced, and it is beyond your scope to replace the isolator yourself, find another vendor. I stated this plainly in the thread you started.

You have been talking about isolator replacement for over a year now on this forum.

I don't think English is your problem.

Its good, you know my problems. But i think you dont understand what i mean and this since more then one year. Because nobody can give me an answer for my question.

I dont want receive an old design. This is my problem. And i dont want change the isolator on a new piece which come from the vendor.

I understand your purposes jb since one year. You posted your answers also since one year, but you to, you never give an answer, which helped me know i order the redesigned supercharger or not

I know my self what i can do and what i cant do.

Then just purchase a new supercharger. Eaton, Whipple, Magnusson, and a couple of others. Take your pick.

It's the same one I-dent-ical with no cosmetic differences either the only difference is a bushing coupler(isolator) that connects the blower to the pulley shaft (on the drive shaft from the blower to the pulley) one has a spring and one is solid. Since it's a 13, factory it came with a spring loaded so take off the belt with a 1/2" breaker bar or wrachet wrench and twist the pulley back and forth rapidly a few times and you will notice the difference one is solid one has play. Then you know what you have Easy peezy
