Does anyone know what SRC is? I see it on the right side of the steering wheel.

Damn, that key looks just like a VW key. The button to jacknife it, and the type/cut style are exactly VW:

Even the hinge looks the same (but is not visible in the VW key photo above).

I think the VW keys are awesome, I'm glad the Camaro has one. Plus I also think that all the new cars ( ie. ford, gm, chrysler) have one. Its just a more efficient design.

So how do you remote start the vehicle from outside using this key? I know that aftermarket has a specific button for this, but it doesn't appear that this key has one.

That key was for a manual car, and manual wont have remote start.

Bummer about the factory remote start not being available on the manual, but I understand why...they can't have it operate the clutch, and they can't require people to park in neutral. I wonder if it will be possible to hack the factory remote start into a manual car (and obviously use a neutral switch to make sure you never start in gear)...

The more I look at it.....I'm kinda NOT liking the center stack. It's looking to plasticy........and gaudy. I do like the lower gauges, but the whole radio/AC knobs aint cuttin it.

One drawback to them though...if you fly, I've heard stories of airport screeners confiscating those kinds of keys because of their switchblade mechanism.

No way. That can't be true. The switchblade bit doesn't spring out hard at all, and the key is far less sharp than any GM key I've seen before.
