So I was lucky enough to have both a 2011 LT and now a 2011 SS, both w the exact same aftermarket exhaust. I can tell u from personal experience that a v6 will nvr sound like a v8. When u hit the gas on the v6, u get a rattle that u dont get w the v8. The v8 is louder, deeper and sounds like a "beast" My v6 sounded good dont get me wrong but if ur going to compare it to the v8, there is no comparison. Just my experience.

This car sounds like an 8... until he drives.

Regardless of number of cylinders- that is a beast.

Personally I wouldn't do it but I don't think it's a that big a deal if it is done.
He admitted right away that it was a V6. maybe he just wanted the look of an SS
It's the same principal behind everybody who buys a TF3 Camaro.
They want to look like bumble bee but we all know they won't get up and
transform into a big giant robot. There is only 1 real bumble bee in this world..LOL

Not even close. People who buy the TF3 edition know damn well people won't be fooled thinking it's the real car in the movie.

People who put SS badges on a V6 are trying to fool people into thinking there car is something it is not.

i've seen someone not even go to that much trouble and stamp the SS emblem on the front an rear bumper and even put the V8 symbol under the camaro logo on the side hahaha just pathetic

Can't tell a V8 from a V6 from the sound? Not sure what makes people do this tho, it's pretty lame...

all I got from this thread is FAIL
FAIL to the guy who puts SS badges on it
FAIL to the V6 vs V8 bashing
FAIL to the hondas I pass every day with RS badges on their front grills

And just to clarify, there are some v6s that can fool people at low idle to sounding as V8s, its as soon as you get over 3k rpm that it becomes very distintive

KEY WORD: FOOL- no v6 will sound like a v8, however it can sound very similar in low rpms depending on the engine. Hence the fool.

Oh and I cant wait to rock my RS badges and V6 fascia with my possible Cammed LS3 mod this winter (or turbos) well see
