Porsche Panamera Turbo. . .

Ok this isn't really a comparison unfortunately we would get our as*es handed to us!

But I found this interesting. . .

Everyone likes to complain how heavy the Camaro is but check this out the Porsche:

Weight 4,800lbs (1,000 more than Camaro)

Hp 500 @ 6000rpm
TQ 516 @ 2250-4500rpm

0-60 3.4sec

1/4 mile 11.7

So I guess Im trying to say, who cares how much the car weighs just add some more power. . .(and in porsches case 4wd and an insane 7 speed tranny)

Just saw this in a magazine and thought I would share. . . before anyone starts going crazy let me just say I would never buy a porsche! I love my american cars. . .

Weight is not everything. It is all in the ratios. Power-weight number are more useful than power or weight alone.

That car is ugly as sin....sorry but it is. Most everything from Porsche has a simple beauty...this does not in my opinion.

Porsche

4,800/500 = 9.6lbs/hp

4,800/516 = 9.3lbs/tq

Camaro

3900/426= 9.2lb/hp

3900/420= 9.3lb/tq

Looks like the Camaro has a better ratio too. I wonder how hard it would be to fit the paneramas transmisson and 4wd setup under my Camaro J/K.

Have to admit they have a well engineered drivetrain to get that power to the ground. . . as it should for $150,000

There is a reason why you pay more for a Porsche.

What I've been saying for....ever.

At some point...weight catches up with you...for example...make a suburban handle like a Camaro, or that Porche....but that's for another time -- point is; 300 lbs is NOT going to make or break a car.

It will if it has the same horsepower as a lighter car.
