3000 hit by derek jeter on June.........

So I did some math today to figure out when Derek Jeter was going to hit his 3000th hit I figured it to be June 5th. Its an away game against the Angels. With his average, and my math over his career, he gets 1.25 hits per game, and would need 58 games to get to 72 hits and reach 3000. Other than travel days, I didnt give him any days off. Being that the Yanks have a homestand June 7th,8th,and 9th against Bostinks, that's when I really think he's going to hit the milestone.  I did the same math problem with Arod and his 600th homerun, and I was about 9 games off. What do you guys think. |

Being a Yankees fan, I hope he hits 3000 even sooner! But nice work, love to see how close you are later.

I am not a Yankees fan, my fiance is, but we were at the game after he broke the All Time hits record from a Yankees player and they honored him. Just missed history by one game.

Late June
I think DJ will be off to a slow start this year because he has been tinkering with his swing/stride. He has gone bask to his old swing now, but these things usually throw a player off for a bit. The second thing that will slow him down is the media circus that will surround the 3000 hit mark.
I think he will do it on June 26th, Old Timer Day, its just kind of fitting that way. |
