What scan tool can I use to check my trans temp? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I plan on changing my trans fluid soon and I know you need to have the temp within a range to check the fluid level. I do not have a gauge pack on my car so I need an ODB2 tool. I have a cheap scan tool but it does not list any engine/trans information.

What is a good cheap recommendation for that can show me transmission temp?

If money is tight, why not just drive for 20 mins to get the trans up to temp, then check the fluid level?

If you have a friend with HP Tuners, you can use the VCM scanner to log trans temp. its free to monitor.

You could put the OEM 4 gauge cluster in the center consul , one gauge is tranny temp. Did mine don't like them dummy lights.
