We all feared it...Looking more like reality!

The third potential GM subbrand under evaluation is Camaro. "We did look at other successful standalone products like Silverado and Suburban but found them unsuitable for various different reasons. In our view, an additional independent lineup must be compiled from three or more distinctly different offerings under the same brand umbrella."

In the case of the Camaro, these models have been provisionally defined as a fully electric 2+2-seater coupe and convertible, a decidedly sporty crossover offered in two-door and four-door body styles, and a mid-price flagship sports car loosely linked to the C9 Corvette in content but not in appearance. Substantial in-house synergies should make the all-electric Camaros a solid business case with global appeal.

Those commercials are very effective...at making me never buy a GM product ever again. I'll be keeping my 5th gen for a very long time.

If you look, of the three proposed vehicles, only one is mentioned to be electric.

The day will come, not in a too distant future, when we rationalize “this Camaro only has 250k miles on it, it’s a steal”. Glad my latest 5th gen only has 8k miles on it. I plan on driving this one a long time.

While it offended hardcore Mustang fans just like myself, it made sense for Ford to use the name for their EV SUV. Instant name recognition and it's been successful so far - even though CR just took it off their recommended list. I thought about trading my F-150 for a Mach-E GT as a DD a while ago, but they're stupid priced, waiting time was several months, and it just wasn't worth the $$.

A daily EV isn't out of the question for me, but there will always be a ICE or two in my garage. Hopefully we're not near the last generation who will hear live the great sound of a nice V8.

Chevy will do the same with Corvette and Camaro & only time will tell if it's a smart move to use the names for their EV lineup.

Amen to that. 4,000 miles here.

Read 45’s last sentence.

All I can say is, 'No country for old (muscle car) men.' Remember, in the next 10-20 years, there will be a MASSIVE die-off of Baby Boomers. That's like 21% of the current population. I guess they have to plan ahead.

Exactly. Kids today don’t even want to drive. They could care less and are being groomed into the EV lies.
