Rub Marks after Retrofit Kit Installation
I had the retrofit kit installed and was able to get a new top (on 9/27/12) and was even fully reimbursed for getting my back window re-tinted. Even though previous rub marks no longer persist from before the retrofit kit install, I have found a new set of rub marks just behind the rear side windows. I'm not sure if any other member has posted these or not but I guess I'm going back to the dealer to have this addressed. Below are pics that I took this afternoon with the rub marks circled and the part of the mechanism that I believe is causing my new headache. I know that this is just another rub mark thread out of the many that already exist but your help is greatly appreciated.

Haven't seen that mark on mine yet. Just had my top replaced in late August.

Thanks for the response! When your top is down, in regards to the 6th pic is your canvas top taut against a metal bracket or do you have some give there? I'm kinda hoping that this might need a minor adjustment when I bring it in again.

Unbelievable Design
Wow, I owe you a bunch catching this one. I was mistaken about my top. There is a very faint rub mark on mine and the short nap fleece layer on the bogus tape is already worn off. I can't believe the aluminum is cut to a sharp point at this spot and just covered with cheap tape. C5 user 'cactuseater' is certainly correct on constantly pointing to a flawed design mechanism. I wonder if the newer design frame/mechanism has this sharp corner on the aluminum. Seriously considering rounding of this spot but wonder if the lack of tension without the corner will cause issues when the top is down. I definitely will be visiting the dealer and getting this documented. I don't put many miles on my car and I want this covered past warranty.
