I live in NY and I looked at the sales tax deduction for the Camaro. However with the high income tax rate in NY it was not even close to not take the income deduction for me.

I knew I wanted a Camaro back 2009, and I knew about the tax deduction that year.

I was able to find a dealer that gave me a fair deal and I took delivery on 12/23/09.

Best Christmas ever!

What Taxes exactly are you talking about?
Sales tax, yearly registration fee or Yearly property tax?
One of the questions on my accountants packet for my taxes is: Did you make any large purchases (vehicles, et) or home improvements?
Sales tax should be a miscellaneous deduction.
Registration Fee is not deductable.
Property tax; not sure but I think it depends on how the come up with the tax be it age based or value based as to whether it is deductable or not.
