I'm not brave enough to have a dealership OC.

But I do have a bonafide case of cap envy.

Since the dealer will not touch my car unless it's warranty related and I will be switching to this new oil when it's widely available I ordered a new cap yesterday from ThatGMPartsGuy. $13 delivered.

For the Camaro (wet sump) the part number is 12686472

Hi all,

Just had my 1464 mile oil change done today. My local dealer, a very good one with a great service department, did not have the 0-40W oil in yet. They used Mobil 1 5-30W, which I have no problem with. They should have the new oil in, in bulk how they get it, by my next change.

Also had them change out rear diff fluid. The tech, a great guy who is planning on buying a ZL1 himself, is a real car guy. He showed me the drain plug on the diff. I was pleased it had only a very small amount of sludge on the magnet, certainly nothing to worry about at that small an amount.

I am still loving this car, and now that it's getting broken in, I'm sure it's only going to get better. Everywhere I take the car, I get stares, thumbs up and good comments.

JJ

Been a Mobil 1 guy for years, but started with Valvoline since this was not available. Hard to change after this report on Syn Power usage...

Mine used to blow out the smoke after minimal miles using the 5w30 Mobil that came from the factory, it now no longer does and truly runs much smoother.
Yup, the product of running a low NOACK oil. That Amsoil 5w-50 Signature is a very good oil. HTHS, VI, NOACK are great. Kinematics are good. The Signature Series tends to have a nice addative package, too.
