L99 Engine surge
Tried to find something on the forum about this with no luck, I have a 2010 SS And the engine surges when at a steady speed about a 100/200 rpm drop. Anyone else experience this?
Mods I have made Long tube headers, Cat delete, resonator delete, Flowmasters, Cold air intake Custom tune From Ted.. He's a video of it at idle, when driving it moves about 1/8 more,Guess it's more of a miss then surge.. Last edited by Nitroman28; 03-28-2012 at 10:53 PM. |

Describe more in detail when this happens. Are you just cruising along (steady speed) the engine surges? Does this happen all time or just under certain conditions? I get an occasional surge at cruise speed (50 mph or so). All I have to do is tap the gas pedal and it corrects it and it doesn't come back. |

It does it at just about any speed that I hold steady, climbing hills is the worse. I notice at idle is acts like it has a miss tach bounces, but chevy told me that was normal. |

Sounds like afm, active fuel management... When our car kicks down to four cylinders at cruising speeds to save gas.
I had mine tuned out and haven't looked back

Do you have a catch can? Could be allot of oil got in there as it does and is fouling stuff up. I ran a can of Seafoam thru the gas tank and my car started running better and picked up 2 MPG.
I did not put a catch can on until about 25K and have 39K now. Did the Seafoam a couple of weeks ago. |
