Just another russian camaro

Hey everbody! I am verry happy to be here! I live in wonderfull Russian city St. Petersburg and finally got my hands on a 2012 Camaro L99. (I think it is a L99, since it is a 6.2 automatic - dealer has no idea)

I bought it old-school from a local GM dealership. They only sold two camaros in summer and had this one standing in the cold outside for few month. Nobody buys these in winter, so price was quite negotiable!

The very second I parked near it in my H2 I figured - these are the cars I need for a daily drive!

Before that I was running between camaro and an srt8 challenger. But I went for the mods! I would not change a thing in srt8. it is pretty much complete. And mods for camaro are limitless!

Spend some time reading this great forum and I am convinced I made a right choice! So much stuff my car needs! Exhaust, intake, rims, ZR1 bumper... a superchrger maybe..!

So far I only got some decent winter tires to drive safe. Power mods are to be done when it is spring and I can actually feel changes.

So far - I enjoy my camaro very much. It handles, drives and accelerates much better then I expected (my H2 has same engine/gear box and I pretty much knew how much power I am getting but camaro handles it in a very different way)

Here is a pic in a pretty much traditional russian industrial heritage A wharehouse I work at.

People's reaction is also pretty great! Kids love it! And girls love it too. I was actually surprised - I had some nice cars before, but never a girl would talk about car I pick here up in so much.

Anyway, I am very happy to be here! If I have a question abt some mod or driving or anything - I can always find someone did this before here... Don't even had to ask anything yet... Wonderfull work done here. Shame I joined so late and most of work is being done already...

You are very fortunate. In the former USSR, owning a Camaro and an H2 would not be possible.

If you call paying $85K for a camaro lucky - then I suppose I am!

Not many people could afford one car in USSR but not many people can afford even one in present Russia too. You get a bigger selection - but you need a good job to pay for it. Not many of those are left here ufrotunatley.
